The Student Cookery Course
When you arrive at your University, it may be the first time in your life that you have lived away from home and had to fend for yourself. Among the many challenges of student life, is the task of feeding yourself both economically and healthfully.
This course has been designed to give you some fantastic cooking tips and recipes that will enable you to prepare and enjoy delicious food either with friends or when you have a big night of revising ahead.
During this 3 day course you will:-
- learn basic knife skills
- gain a repertoire of easy to prepare and healthy dishes
- learn how to gain and sustain the energy to study and have fun through having the right diet
- how best to make your budget go further
Day 1
• 10am – 11am discuss healthy eating, shopping on a budget and handy tips
• 11am – 2pm Knife Skills
• 2pm – 4pm Pasta Dishes and Sauces
Dishes to include: -
Chicken Stir Fry, Bean Cassoulet, Vegetable Paella
DAY 2: -
• Roast Chicken (to be used later for leftovers and soup)
• Chilli con Carne
• Spaghetti Bolognaise
• Cottage Pie
• Minced Beef Cobbler
• Fruit Smoothies
• Rice and vegetable cookery
DAY 3: -
• Soups (Make 4)
• Bread Making (Basic Focaccia)
• Pizza
• Flapjacks
• Yogurt Cake & variations
• Ice Cream
Dishes will be seasonal, using the best and most economical British produce available.
The course price includes professional tuition from qualified chefs, all ingredients, recipes, refreshments, a three course lunch each day and plenty of leftovers to take home to family and friends.
This is a 3 day course:
10am – 4pm each day
Ages 16 – 20 welcome
