About Inspired Gourmet Cookery School

Six Open Plan KitchensInspired Gourmet is a new cookery school in Milton Keynes dedicated to hands-on domestic cookery instruction for all ages. Our six open-plan kitchens are each fully equipped with their own oven, sink, equipment and work space giving you the perfect environment to have maximum time with the instructor and to practice your skills. We do not believe in having our students “standing around watching” as a chef shows you how to follow a recipe. And none of your ingredients are pre-prepared, as practicing measuring and knife skills is essential to being able to replicate the dishes at home.

Inspired Gourmet instructors are fully qualified as instructing head chefs. Their style is approachable, professional and fun – always getting the best out of each cookery student and taking the individual at their own pace. Whether it is a corporate event, a cookery party or a cookery course, you will discover new skills and an enhanced love of delicious, simple gourmet cuisine!

The Inspired Gourmet Cookery School serves the local Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, and Bedfordshire communities, providing excellent practical cookery courses, unique parties and events and professional catering services. We price all of our courses and service competitively and are dedicated to inspiring you in the kitchen and developing your culinary skills.

 

Profiles

Dan Russell

Daniel Russell has just joined Inspired Gourmet coming from a position as Head Chef of a boutique hotel in Surrey. Previous experience includes Chef Patisseire at the Ritz Hotel in London. Daniel has also worked as a consultant chef lecturer at Brooklands catering college in Weybridge, Surrey. Dan’s passion lies with a more modern style of cuisine and gastronomy and is looking forward to delivering interesting and exciting courses.

 

 

Dave Russell

Dave is an enthusiastic, traditional chef and has a great rapport with Inspired Gourmet clients. He has extensive experience as a Head Chef and Catering Operations Manager, working in both the UK and the United States. He joined Inspired Gourmet at the beginning of 2010 to deliver a number of our adult and children’s courses and private parties and recently took on the role of Cookery School Manager. He has extensive catering training experience having developed chef training programmes for well-known pub and restaurant chains across the UK. Dave lives with his wife Danielle in Leighton Buzzard and their blended family of six children!

 

John Fernandez

John is a fully qualified Chef, undertaking his training at Westminster College, London. He has had an illustrious career in some of London’s finest 5 star Hotels, stints in France and Ireland and a number of years as Head Chef in Modern British Restaurants. John prides himself on “Old School” approaches with up to date styles and methods of cookery. He has dedicated the last 5 years to teaching and instructing children and adults about the benefits and joys of creating their own food. John has travelled extensively and being from a colourful, diverse ethnic background himself, has developed a keen eye and palate for authentic food. His motto is “Time well spent in the kitchen, is time well invested.”

 

Rachel Lansing

Rachel started the Mountain Chefs and Inspired Gourmet cookery school brands in 2007, launching the first courses in the autumn of 2008. Rachel is a passionate about cooking high quality, delicious and nutritious food for her partner and their six children. The children are often in the family kitchen where they are encouraged to take part in making meals and to be very proud of their creations! The family favourites are roast dinners, casseroles, fresh pasta sauces and Thai and Mexican feasts!  Rachel grew up in Wisconsin, the US “dairy” state, where she developed a particular fondness for cheese, cream and butter.  She settled in the UK in 1995.
